11/11

Updated: 23 hours ago

I wanted to post today for 11/11, but I really don't have much to say. I almost called out of work for the first time today. I've been sick the last few days (and I never get sick) and I was off yesterday and told my manager last night that I still wasn't better and I wouldn't be in tomorrow (today). But this morning when I woke up, I felt much better and immediately told my manager that I was feeling better and could come in and he said yes. I was happy because I really didn't want to take off, its just that I work around food and stuff and I don't want to get other people sick, ya know? I've never been one to call out of work, have I quit jobs with no notice? Yes, and I'm honestly ashamed at myself to an insane degrees about that. But I've been working here since July and while I do make a lot of mistakes and yes I've been told, I do kinda like it. I mean, its a job, I get paid.

I was thinking earlier about how I said I wanted to make this blog about something and I thought maybe I could make this blog about music. Like a review of music and I can dish a little this and that about whatever in there. Does that make sense? I don't really want to be a critic, I just want this blog to a. have a little structure and b. not be so intensely personal. My last blog site was a little heavy and I didn't realize how sensitive I was to the things written on there until I started to think about specific people reading it and it caved me right in.

anyway. Before I start, I just want to clarify that I am not a musician. I do not consider myself to be a musician and it is only my goal in life to someday earn the title of musician. Until then, I am just a human. who really likes music.

Kurt Vile

At my work we use a music platform for businesses. I can't remember what its called, but it has many different "stations". However, a lot of the music on the stations are bands I've never heard of. I mean the mass majority. But this one song on this playlist stuck out to me and every time it came on, I would notice that I'd noticed that song before and it was the song "Pretty Pimpin" THEN I put on a different playlist and I liked the song "Bassakwards". So, I looked him up and started to listen to some more stuff. He sing-talks and its absolutely adorable. And the melodies are really great in that they are intricate and likable. He's got a way of being really good, but he works great in the background like if I'm working on something or at work I can listen, but still move. And he's got these like 10 minute long jams that I really love and I appreciate.

I think I'm going to end here because I'm really tired. But I like where were headed with the new structure. Good nite.
